Record a sleepover when a patient is temporarily moved to a different bed, either on the same ward or on a different ward, for one or more nights. The patient remains admitted to their original bed; the sleepover records the temporary location.
đNote: It is possible to record a sleepover to a bed that is already occupied. If two patients are associated with the same bed, details for both are displayed to the right of the bed in the Bed Layout View.
Record a sleepover
Access the Bed Layout View and click the bed of the patient going on sleepover.
Select Sleepover, then click Sleepover Details. The Inpatient Sleepover screen is displayed.
Select the Ward, Bay, and Bed where the patient will be sleeping from the drop down lists. The Bay and Bed lists appear once the previous item has been selected.
If required, enter the Expected Return Date and time.
If required, enter a Comment in the text box.
Click Save.
The sleepover is recorded. The bed image on the Bed Layout View changes to indicate the patient is sleeping elsewhere.
Record a return from sleepover
Access the Bed Layout View and click the bed of the patient returning from sleepover.
Select Sleepover, then click Sleepover Details. The Inpatient Sleepover screen is displayed, showing the details of the current sleepover.
Enter the return date and time in the Return Date field.
If required, add a comment in the Comment text box.
Click Save.
The return from sleepover is recorded. The bed image changes back to Occupied.
View sleepover history
To view the full sleepover history for a patient, click the patient's bed, then select Sleepover, then click Sleepover History. The Inpatient Sleepover History screen is displayed, showing all sleepover records for the current admission.
