Issue
When viewing historically completed assessment forms, the picklist field shows only the Code, numeric value rather than the CodeDescription, the wording originally selected.
This makes it difficult to see what option was chosen at the time.
Cause
This issue is caused by a known software fault identified in RIO version 25.09.00 and aligned for fix in version 26.02.00.
It occurs when historic picklist options contained reserved words such as use or while.
A full list of reserved words can be found in the Assessment Forms, Message Generator and Reports Admin User Guide section 2.9.
These reserved words were allowed in older versions of RIO, but have since been made illegal, to ensure safe use of SQL statements internally.
When a picklist contains illegal reserved words, it can fail to load or execute correctly. After the wording has been corrected or removed, any historical forms that used the old wording may only display the Code instead of the CodeDescription.
Workaround
The issue has been aligned for resolution in version 26.02.00, fix alignment may be subject to change.
As a workaround, it may be possible to apply a data fix to restore the correct historical wording. This must be assessed case by case.
If you would like to request a data fix:
Open the Digital Assistant and type talk to a person.
Provide:
The form name and/or form code.
The picklist name affected.
This behaviour does not impact the underlying SQL validity, but it does affect how historical records are displayed.
