There are three known problems with River View not showing any events:

River View not showing event over 2100 assessments

In RIO version 7.10, if a client has more than 2100 assessments of a specific assessment form, then River View will not show any events. This is not just related to affected assessment form, but no events will show. This is a known bug in earlier versions of RIO and has been fix in RIO version 21+.

If you are using an older version of RIO, it is recommended that you do not add more than 2100 assessments for an individual form to a client; you should create a new form that exactly matches the old form and use that instead.

If you have added more than 2100 assessments to a client, you can either wait till you upgrade RIO, request a hotfix or type talk to a person and the Digital Assistant will put you through to a live support agent, so that old assessment forms can be moved to an archive table.

Missing document type stops River View events

If a document does not have a document type set, this can cause River View to show no events if documents are selected.

No River View event for assessment form

No River View events showing for assessment form X, for any clients. This is often caused by data issues and will require a datafix, type talk to a person and the Digital Assistant will put you through to a live support agent.
